This is comprehensive course where Jimi will take a deep dive into the world of Salvias and Dahlias in the garden. Jimi will share with you clever and creative ways to use Salvias and Dahlias in your home garden or in a garden you work in.
The day will consist of :
An in-depth look at the largest Salvia collection in Ireland
Learn how to get Salvia’s and Dahlia’s to flower from early summer to winter
Learn the best cultivation techniques including planting, growing, pruning and propagation of Dahlia’s and Salvia’s
The design process – Best varieties of Dahlias and Salvias to grow and creating planting combinations with them
In the afternoon Fionnuala Fallon will demonstrate some beautiful arrangements made using Dahlias from the gardens in Hunting Brook. While creating the arrangements Fionnuala will share with you her extensive knowledge of growing Dahlias as cut flowers and which varieties are the best to use as cut flowers
Fionnuala is the Irish Times gardening columnist, flower farmer, wedding florist and lover of seasonality and sustainability.
Tea/coffee on arrival and mid-morning tea/coffee and cake.
